 sendmail slow

I have sendmail 8.11.0-8 in Red Hat 7.0 in DMZ as mail server. Between LAN and DMZ there's firewall. When I'm trying to connect to mail server there's about 5-10 secs delay. After delay everything works fine and fast. From WAN to DMZ there are no problems at all. So I figured the problem must be in firewall.

So I need help to get rid of that 5-10sec delay.

Check if the identd daemon is up in the sendmail server........
