Help with cable heart beat and Winroute packet filtering
Author: Graeme (---.qld.bigpond.net.au)

I am connected to Telstra Bigpond via cable. Winroute drops the heartbeat packet and the connection times out. I've tried installing bpa logon - it still disconnects every five minutes, however it will automatically reconnect. This is no good when d/l large files. Does anyone have any suggestions? By the way os is 98se. thanks in advance.

Now its ok with Winroute pro

Make sure you use BPAlogin and let it use the default port of 5050. You then need to allow for traffic through winroute from your local heartbeat server on this port.

I suggest you check out Ozcableguy's website (http://www.ozcableguy.com/) which will help you out with loads of good info.
